cross town bus?

i go from port authority bus terminal to grand central terminal for work, can the cross town bus take me from/to there? n before anyone says i can just take the S, i know lol, but im nervous because of what’s been going on in the subways and id rather be comfortable. ive been walking but sometimes its just too cold lol. so does that bus that runs on 42nd street will that work?
