Input needed

So its been quite challenging for me to adjust living with my host family. They are wonderful and they try their best to make me feel comfortable , they are understanding and kind. But its just strange because i am living with them but also i have to remember to always be polite because its their home etc. So we were all out this weekend. They went away and so did I. I came back home before they did. Showered and got in bed early because its work tomorrow and i feel under the weather a bit. When they got home i was already in bed and it honestly sounded like they just wanted to get the kids in bed etc because it was past their bedtime. Now i am wondering if I should have gotten out of bed and said hi because i am still awake🤦🏽🤦🏽🙈🙈 small minor situations like this can be so annoying because if this was my actual home i would stay in bed because i am trying to sleep. Also, no rude insincere comments. Honestly just trying to find my way
