Swaps / Mecca addiction / realising Nivea is great
Cost of living and being post covid has made me realise that I'm spending so much on skincare that is really not that amazing. It feels nice but I dunno, could it be that the big cosmetic companies are lying to me and the products they are spruiking actually don't do much?
I had a raging mecca addiction over covid (yep I'm in Melbourne) and got up to level 3. Now I'm at level 2 and probably will drop down again very soon.
I'm going back to Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.
One of the best swaps that I've discovered, mostly because I didn't think there was a swap, was swapping Glow Recipe Enzyme Cleansing Balm for Nivea cleansing lotion (the one with lotus flower). It seems to clean away all my eye makeup, no stinging, doesn't strip my skin and a fraction of the cost ($50 vs $7 on sale).
Other recent swaps that I'm loving is the Nivea Q10 night cream and the Ceravee vitamin c serum. I was never brand loyal with Mecca brands, always used different ones, Sunday Reilly or Glow were some recent brands.
The next one I would like to swap out is Mecca To Save Face 50+ sunscreen. Although I may end up sticking with it because this is the only sunscreen I've used consistently that didn't feel clogging or give me a white cast.
