Northern Dragon- by the numbers

To finish the saga of my recent RQS Northern lights grow, I’m going to show the final product as I consume.

This process utilized one of two RQS northern lights autos(also happens to be my first grow). The end dry weight for the plant used was 81g. This auto took up around a 2x2 canopy space. Grown in 5 gallon fabric pot and “synganic” fertilizer (FFOF and water only for first 5 weeks, followed by GH trio). Chopped on day 89, and its tent-mate on day 95.

The bud was dried using a lotus dry (open air with grates instead of bags/cardboard) for 7 days, which in my fridge is 45f/40ish%. I’m not partial to the lotus dry, especially since I’m making edibles, but I had an extra fridge conveniently in my grow room.

All bud was then broken down and decarbed 40g at a time in an Amazon bought decarboxylation machine at 240f for one hour. The bud was then frozen and then washed with 190 proof ever clear for 12 hours. I know minutes is plenty, but this was for good measure.

Finally, the tincture was strained through a cheese cloth, and reduced in a mason jar resting on the heating element of a rice cooker. The original volume was 600ml, reduced down to 400ml. I was hoping to reduce a bit further, but the tincture was starting to become quite viscous.

The ending concentration should end up being around 20mg/ml. I sampled around a third of a ml, and feel this is right on the money. I wrote out the calculations in one of the pictures.

The effect has been a deep body stone while keeping a clearer head buzz. It’s a great combo for someone like me.
