What misconceptions about cptsd would you say 'no' to?

CPTSD is a deeply personal and complex experience, yet there are so many misconceptions that can make it even harder for us to navigate our healing journey. I’ve been reflecting on some of the narratives surrounding CPTSD and want to create a space here to say no to the ones that just don’t sit right.

For me, one of the biggest misconceptions I reject is: “You should be over it by now.” Healing is not a linear process, and there’s no timeline for something as profound as recovering from chronic trauma. It's frustrating when people minimize the experience or expect quick fixes.

What about you? Are there certain ideas, comments, or societal attitudes about CPTSD that you want to say no to? Let’s discuss them gently and thoughtfully, and maybe we can help shed some light on what healing truly looks like.
