Higher LDL, small LDL after keto
Keto has been great for my blood sugar and a1c given my family's history of diabetes, and I've been eating keto on and off for the past 2~ years, usually 2-3 months at a time. This time, I was keto for 4 months and got a full blood panel. My cholesterol numbers came back and they are definitely high. I may be a LMHR, which I've read about, but I'm still concerned that my small LDL and ApoB numbers are high. I thought keto is supposed to lower small LDL I believe? Anyone have thoughts about this? I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with these numbers long term even though my blood pressure, hsCRP, lp(a), trig/HDL ratio numbers are great. I may switch to low carb mediterranean to try to bring down my LDL and ApoB. I had one other blood test before keto in 2023, and my LDL was 122, triglycerides were 81, and HDL was 74 then.
