[FO] Second project done - and more lessons learned!
Hey all! Second project finished - this was supposed to be a birthday gift for my kid back in the fall 🫣 but it seems that kind of timeline is not uncommon lol
The sampler comes with 10 different characters; I was planning on doing more of them (and gave up) which is why Moana is floating in the void on a way too big piece of aida with a huge hoop.
Main lessons: 1) I bought this aida straight from Michael’s and wow is it pretty terrible. It feels cheap and too big and loose. I am certain it’s 14 ct like my first piece, so I don’t /think/ I’m missing something here, but boy does it not compare at all. Best place to get it? Anything I should be looking for in the future? 2) I still don’t really understand the pin stitch finish. I swear it made sense to me for like one or two colors, and then all the rest of them are jury rigged and probably not secure haha. Think I’m gonna try loop finishes next. 3) If, hypothetically, you end up missing the last color needed to finish the piece even though you swear you bought it and you just grab some other close-enough color and use that instead… no one will notice. You know, theoretically. 4) Stitching is good for me and doing it regularly is good for me.
