Rain dripping on window ledge

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is even a common issue but the rain drips from the above window ledge and his the metal window ledge highlighted in yellow. It's pretty loud and wakes me up when it's raining, all I hear is water drops hitting the metal. Is there any way to dampen the sound or fix this. I was thinking about siliconing the metal in hopes of absorbing the sound.
