Season Weapon Crafting Concept

After seeing the Heretical Arsenal, why doesn’t bungie just combine the two concepts the community wants?

Allow crafting for seasonal weapons, but allow us to farm for adept weapons with special variations to them with random rolls? This way the average player can still work their respective 9-5 and still get their desired weapon roll, but those of us who may be more dedicated can farm for the perfect 5/5 adept roll with a cool cosmetic variation?
