Anyone else not find Danny Gonzales’s content not as funny? (respectfully)

I hope I was able to put this into words without it looking like I’m bashing Danny, because that’s definitely not my intention. :)

I became a Drew Gooden fan after watching his Lilly Singh video, after which I binged most of his videos in a week. Drew has to be my absolute favorite YouTuber on the platform; I absolutely love how well-thought out his content is and how much thought and attention he puts into editing.

I ran out of Drew videos to watch pretty quick, and since I saw so many Danny comments under his vids, I decided to watch some of Danny’s videos. I was honestly sort of disappointed, because I just didn’t find his content funny.

It’s so crazy to me that Drew and Danny have so much of an overlapping fanbase, but how Danny’s humor fails to resonate with me and I find Dew’s jokes and commentary spot on the entire time.

I think Danny does have a few good jokes, but his editing style, as well as the way he overexplains his humor sort of takes me out. It’s not just the jokes as well, but also the commentary, where I tend to appreciate the way Drew analyzes takes a lot more.

Danny’s humor feels more surface-level (which is wonderful for those who enjoy that), and Drew uses more deadpan humor that takes a little bit more skill and execution, which is more appealing to me. I’m not comparing the two negatively, Danny is a great person that posts content that is extremely successful in his own right.

Just wanted to ask this sub if anyone else felt the same way, especially since it seems to me that most people that watch Drew and Danny and enjoy both of their humor. Because of this, it does feel pretty weird for me to consider Dew’s content 11/10 and then Danny’s is just not as interesting to me. :(

I also tried watching Kurtis’ and Cody’s videos, but I haven’t found a commentary YouTuber or anyone with a style of humor that I enjoy as much as Drew’s.
