Can someone explain how Req comes out to be 12.1685 and not 12?
I was trying to solve this Req problem but each time I try to solve it, I always end up getting 12kΩ instead of 12.1685kΩ. I first used the 𝜟-Y transformation on the left and right 3 to get resistances 60kΩ, 36kΩ, 36kΩ, 36kΩ, 30kΩ, 54kΩ, 54kΩ, and 54kΩ. After the 𝜟-Y transformation, I combined the 36kΩ and 54kΩ, resistors together to get 12kΩ and 18 kΩ so the new configuration has 60kΩ in parallel with the 12 and 18kΩ resistors in series and the 30kΩ in parallel. After combining those three, I got a Req that comes out to 12kΩ. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? Thanks
