Google Pixel 7 NFC/contactless failing to respond

Contactless on my Pixel 7 only works a couple times and then will not respond at all no matter which card is used. Aware of the known issues other people have had when face unlock is used instead of fingerprint causing payments to be declined, but contactless straight up refuses to work on mine.

Deleting and re-adding the cards as well as clearing cache doesn't resolve the issue, only full restarting the phone does. Has anyone else had this problem and/or potential fixes?
