Be careful in HEB, most people are not your friend.

In HEB, the best advice I can give people is to keep your head down and don't talk very much to others.

HEB people are not your friends, and most of the people who work here are not good people. They are very selfish and you are only valued by what your body can physically do for them.

If you get sick, have any body problems, or any personal issues, the people who work here win not be 'there for you", so it's very important not to do anything for the company at the expense of yourself. I've been "coached" by my manager for not doing enough while being visibly physically ill. The next time, I just called in and didn't bother.

Other workers in HEB are not your buddies, either. this is especially true in physical departments like grocery. Most people who work at HEB do not really care about people and are trying to use you to climb the "retail ladder" in some way or another. The people you think are your friends will very quickly turn around and blame, gossip etc about you if it makes them look better.

Most people are just here for the paycheck and that's okay, just remember not to invest yourself in the people around you.
