We finally met after 1.6 years of dating!
My boyfriend and I met through gaming, and I always teased him, saying he’d be super shy when we finally saw each other in person. But joke’s on me—I was the shy one. When he visited me for Valentine’s Day this year, I literally hid in the bathroom for like 15 minutes before finally coming out. And the moment I did? He instantly picked me up and hugged me.
For some reason, I just couldn’t make him look at my face. I have my insecurities, and yeah, he fell for me way before he ever saw me, but that’s not even the point—I’m just like that. And honestly, he didn’t even try to look at me right away because he knew. He just kept hugging me, holding me close, until I finally let him.
Long distance is something we have to get through no matter what, and we will, but being together in person made everything feel so much more real. We understand each other better, and everything just feels so much easier when we’re physically together—figuring things out, making plans, and simply existing in the same space. It all feels so natural and amazing.
It isn’t easy, but this visit reminded me why it’s worth it. Already planning on flying out there this April, and I can’t wait for even more moments like this. Here’s to many more moments together, both online and (hopefully) in person again soon! ❤️
