New set

I’m fairly new to arena and magic in general. In other games when new things are released they tend to end up at the meta. I’m wondering if that’s the same here? I have saved up some gold should I spend it opening Aetherdrift packs when it launches? Or would I be better opening foundations or other packs that contain cards I see being played currently? Thanks.
