I know a little bit about "newer" hip-hop, help me get into the "older" stuff!

I've always loved older hiphop (pac, biggie, ice cube, etc.) but never got a deeper understanding into what their world was like. I don't want to watch documentaries, but I want to listen to albums that have history, the records that shaped our world today. The first one on my list is probably  Me Against the World - 2Pac since I know it was one of the greatest to ever exist (2pac) and this is one of his finest work. But I want other suggestions. From massive albums to smaller ones, act like I know nothing, since I don't know a lot about the world some lived in when hip-hop was growing. I'm 22 so i grew up around newer hiphop/rap.

Thanks in advance y'all!

Edit: Damn thank you all for the suggestions!!!
