2024 Mock Draft 1.0 (Post-RS)
This mock is based on what I would do and not what I think nba teams would do. The order is a random tankathon spin.
1 Wizards: A. Sarr - bodes well with their identity of lengthy athletes and positional size.
2 Spurs: R. Dillingham - Jokic has Murray. Embiid has Maxey. Wemby needs Dillingham. Perfect for one another.
3 Hornets: Z. Risacher - gives them a 3D guy that can complement LaMelo and BMill.
4 Pistons: D. Clingan - They have Duren but it's better for them to sell high on him IMO. Clingan gives them an anchor from day 1. Other guys can afford to be more aggressive on D knowing Clingan can cover for their mistakes.
5 Blazers: C. Williams - purely an upside swing. Build around young perimeter guys in Sharpe/Cody/Scoot.
6 Raptors: D. Knecht - gives them nba-ready guy from day 1. Underrated upside as a starter. Complements Scottie/Quickley well.
7 Grizzlies: R. Sheppard - seamless fit with their style of play. Plays fast, makes the right plays, high feel and elite shooter.
8 Jazz: N. Topic - they'd finally have an unselfish guard that can get to the rim and make the right reads.
9 Rockets via Nets - H. Sallis - gets them a shooter that is not a chucker. Can help them win games from day 1.
10 Hawks: Ky. George - upside swing on a guy that potentially fills their hole at the wing.
11 Bulls: J. Furphy - promising wing next to DeMar/Coby.
12 Thunder via Rockets: K. Filipowski - provides them much needed help with rebounding + can D/P/S as a big.
13 Kings: J. McCain - potential Monk replacement if market price is too high.
14 Blazers via Warriors: T. Salaun - another upside swing.
15 Heat: S. Castle - this guy screams Heat Culture despite being a 5 star player out of HS.
16 Sixers: T. Da Silva - could provide better shooting than Tobi to help Embiid/Maxey
17 Lakers: T. Smith
18 Magic: J. Walter - they need a shooter who can be okay on defense.
19 Raptors: B. Klintman - potential D/P/S wing with positional size.
20 Cavs: R. Holland - DM is probably gone this offseason. Time to rebuild and add to Garland/Mobley core.
21 Pels: C. Carrington - they need a long term PG and McCollum ain't it. Fits well with Zion.
22 Suns: D. Carter - someone has to do dirty work from perimeter. I also buy his shot fwiw
23 Bucks via Pels: T. Kolek
24 Knicks via Mavs: J. Edwards - could take his time to develop into 3D guy behind OG and others. Thibs could develop him well.
25 Knicks: Z. Edey - Mitch probably has to go to keep IHart. Edey can fill as backup 5.
26 Wizards via Clippers: M. Buzelis
27 Wolves: C. Spencer
28 Nuggets: D. Holmes II - gives a different look as Jokic backup. Provides vertical spacing but can also make right reads.
29 Thunder: K. McCullar - a shot away to be a good 2 way playmaker. That ex-Spurs shooting coach would do him wonders.
30 Celtics: Y. Missi - gives them rim pressure and lob threat on the interior. High D upside too.
edit: Salaun was drafted twice. Had to change things up.
