Best state without income tax
I would like to move to a low tax state to expand my net worth as quickly as possible. I intend to work remote and have high income. I am looking at states like Wyoming, South Dakota, New Hampshire and Alaska. I do not like hot weather but don’t mind cold. I want somewhere rural and low crime. Low cost of living is also important. I have some pros and cons of the states. Mountains would also be nice. I really like South Dakota except maybe summer weather, property taxes and sales taxes. Maybe crime? South Dakota has good roads which is a bonus. It also ranks very high on freedom. Wyoming has similar issues to South Dakota but maybe lower crime. New Hampshire really hoses you on property tax, but no sales tax is nice. It also ranks very high on freedom. Alaska is really location dependent but generally has lowest taxes, only issue is that it is separated from mainland USA and thus have fewer goods and services and have higher prices. The scenery in Alaska is amazing so that is a bonus. Crime could also be an issue. I might consider Eastern Tennessee but the sales tax is really high. Which state out of those would be the nicest to live in? Edit: many of you are saying Washington that has a 7% capital gains tax over 250k which is a form of income tax, just putting it out there.
