Public Transportation is ruining my mental health and I need help finding a reliable car:
I want to start this off by saying that I am so grateful that we have better public transportation than other places but I have had some horrible experiences.
I have been using the bus since I was in accident where a drunk driver hit me and totaled my car like 3 years ago….I was grateful to be alive and I felt safe taking public transportation. Bus drivers can be mean for no reason, I see drug addicts get on the bus for free and the bus drivers say nothing but once I was in between paychecks and only had 2 dollars to my name… I only put a dollar in and the bus driver belittled me and said I don’t look like a senior citizen so I need to pay the correct fare. Why do I have to beg and explain my finances to get on the bus? Bus drivers will see you chasing the bus and not stop for you at all. Doesn’t stop there… These drug addicts take over the bus stop and do their drugs… Then they get on the bus and take up seats by sleeping on the bus… might I add they smell. I have had people follow me from the bus stop and I’ve had to mace multiple people. Recently I was assaulted on the bus by someone demanding drugs I don’t have..they punched me in my face and nobody helped me because I bet they were scared too.
I’m working so hard to get a car but it’s hard having 2 jobs and using public transportation…I spend about 20 hours a day working and commuting. This is killing my mental health and I wish I had help… I have been searching on Facebook Marketplace but I don’t know anything about a good or bad car so I don’t wanna get scammed. Also used cars are so expensive now. Do any of you know of any resources in this situation?
