Justifying the hate towards munmun

Okay, so I’m not a fan of Munmun Dutta or her character Babita, but seeing people hate on her for no real reason really annoys me. So, I’m going to try to justify a few things here.

1. Hating Her for Not Standing Up for Roshan

A lot of people criticize her for not standing up for Roshan, but let’s be honest, most of us are hypocrites when it comes to this. If my colleague told me that our boss asked her for, you know, “favors,” I swear, I’d support her emotionally, mentally, financially—basically in any way I could. But standing up against my boss? I don’t think I’d have the guts to do that; it would be career suicide. It’s the same with Munmun. Maybe she does consider herself a feminist, but standing up against someone like Asit Modi would mean losing her job. I think most of us would act the same way; very few have the courage to stand up to someone in power. And yeah, I admire those who do, but I know I probably wouldn’t, and we shouldn’t just blame Munmun for this. If we’re going to point fingers, we should look at the whole cast for not standing up, especially those who actually have some power, like Dilip Joshi and the guy who plays Bhide.

2. Hating Her for Being “Racist”

Now, this is the only thing that seems justified. Having a “god complex” just because you’re fair-skinned is pretty terrible, and if she does have that attitude, I hope she faces some consequences for it.

3. Saying She’s Only on the Show for Her “Assets”

Some people say she’s only on the show because of her looks or her “assets,” and I can partly agree—she definitely has a role as eye candy. But there are different ways to be eye candy:

  1. Type 1: Urvashi Rautela in Great Grand Masti—where the character is purely there to get sexualized, show skin, and crack double-meaning jokes.
  2. Type 2: Vaani Kapoor in War—she did an item song, sure, but beyond that, she wasn’t over-sexualized. She was there because the plot needed her, to show how men would do anything to get noticed by a pretty woman.

Munmun falls under the second category. She’s portrayed as a “typical modern woman,” not some character whose only purpose is to expose skin and make crude jokes. She rarely wears anything too revealing, and saying she’s only there because of her body makes the person saying it sound like a creep. She’s a decent actress, in my opinion. I’m not saying she’s amazing or anything, but she’s definitely not bad either. I can’t recall any scene where she completely outshined everyone, but I also don’t remember cringing at her presence.

The people who focus on her breasts and make trashy comments about her physical appearance really need to realize that it's not cool or funny—it’s disrespectful. Honestly, they might need to see a therapist to work through those issues.

4. Hating Her for Promoting Gambling Apps

As for the hate she gets for promoting gambling apps—honestly, I feel it’s okay to promote whatever she wants. It’s up to the audience to decide whether they want to use it or not. But yeah, I get why some people, especially the more conservative folks, might not like it.

Overall, I’d say that, yeah, Munmun isn’t exactly a great person. She does come across as a bit mean and seems to have this "god complex" because of her fair skin. And honestly, those reasons are morethan enough for someone to dislike her. But hating her for things like not standing up for Roshan or accusing her of only being on the show for her looks seems kinda baseless to me. That’s why I made this thread—to point out that while there are valid reasons to criticize her, some of the hate she gets feels a bit over the top and unfair.

Let me make it clear again: I'm not a fanboy of Munmun or Babita—I actually do dislike her. But hating her for these reasons is pretty baseless, and that's why I'm trying to justify my point of view. Also, please don't comment things like "real ID se aao, Jethalal yaha," or anything like that. It's not funny; it's stupid and immature.
