A different strategy for New Years Resolutions.

(I posted this on r/teenagers a month ago, but it never got approved by the mods, so I'm posting it here instead)

This year, I'd like to achieve personal growth. That's the main thing. I spent a lot of last year in a slump. Not really doing much. That needs to change. So I'm going to try something.

Each month will have its own core goal. Sorta like new years resolutions, except lower commitment, and less overwhelming. That month, I'll try my hardest to fulfill that goal. The next month, I'll work on something new.

Here are my goals for the next few months:

January: Quitting porn. I've been struggling with it for years, and it's time to end it once and for all. I joined a group chat with a few other guys who also want to quit, so hopefully we'll get it done.

February: Quitting porn part 2. Hey, it takes time okay?

March: Get more active. Not necessarily bulking up, but just more general activity throughout the day. Sitting down less, going on longer walks. Things like that.

April: Stop biting my nails. This isn't super big, but it's annoying, and I'd like to be able to pry apart LEGOs more easily lol.

May: Physical health. Things like drinking more water, getting more sunshine, eating more fruit/veggies, stuff like that. Hopefully it'll improve my mental health too.

June: Bulk up (kinda). I don't need to be the ultimate gigachad, but at least stronger than I am right now.

July: Approach people more. This one is going to be very, very difficult for me, but I know I need to do it. And hopefully the things I've improved on before will help me gain some confidence to do so.

August: Make a friend. I currently have none, and need to change that. It's hard, since I'm homeschooled, but I gotta try.

I'm not sure yet what to do for the other months, but I'll think on that over time.

For now, maybe some of you can join me in trying monthly resolutions, instead of piling 10 goals onto us at once.
