S1 Wayne and Raj being different

I remember watching season 1 and thinking wow they’re cool and great team players and all that. Then I watched season 2 a couple weeks later, and I noticed a shift in their personalities? Other people have mentioned it but I didn’t really think of them as the dumb jock trope in season 1 in fact they were pretty good at planning and leading their team to victory. Anyone else surprised that they suddenly became brainless in the second season when they weren’t portrayed as such in their debut season?

Tho I still like them!
