Message from HMRC - too little tax

I’m on PAYE, just got a message from HMRC, stating that I payed too little tax 2023-2024, and that I owe over £1.2K. It’s the first time this is happening and that’s quite a large sum. I don’t think I have any other option than pay, but I guess I’ll open a savings account for future such “surprises”.
