How does living in Waltham differ from living in Arlington…

…with a young family (2 year old and trying for a second)? Are there material differences in amenities (restaurants, cafes, library, children’s activities), traffic, quality of life, etc? I know schools are technically ranked worse in Waltham but would this difference be felt at the elementary level? Thanks!
