Was something this person said ableist?
So I'll type out the conversation we had. I was in a subreddit for DreamWorks. I saw someone I know from r/MaoMao and said "Hey I think I saw you in r/MaoMao a few times. To which they respond "hello" and I responded back with "Hi" to which someone who I won't be naming names so people don't go out and harass them let's just call them a fake name like creek (not their real name or username) creek said "So are you gonna make out or just stand there?" To which I responded with "we is not a couple 😭/srs I don't even know how old bro is" "let me ask bro" "Hey creek wants me to ask you how old you are?" to which creek responded with "Uhh it was a joke I wasn't being literal when I said it lmao. Chill out a Little.(they never made any sort of signs where it was a joke) and "I never said that though" which true but I assumed it off their comment. I said "I assumed you did based off your comment but ok. And I also responded with "oh well you could've just said so like put the /j there. I don't understand certain types of humor and I have literal thinking (due to having autism so it would help a lot more if you put /j next to it next time you make a joke) now here's where I felt like they were being abelist but I wasn't sure. Creek said. "I'm not 9 years old dude I don't put /j to help others with a joke. Sorry for the misunderstanding" I wasn't forcing them to or do it when they are making a joke but when they make a joke to me it would help a lot better. I responded with "I'm not 9(I'm actually 13-15) I'm neurodivergent and have trouble understanding jokes and have literal thinking (said for the second time) "so it would genuinely help if you did put a /j if you make a joke to me. I'll ask others if it's a joke if it's towards someone else but if it's towards me It would help if you made it clear that it's just a joke" I'm not sure if they've responded back yet nor am I sure if creek was being abelist..so I came here to ask.
