should i use plan B to delay my period?

hiya. help a gal out.

i'm flying out to see my boyfriend on jan 4th, the day my period is expected to begin. i had trouble scheduling a doctor's appointment to get prescribed birth control or norethisterone (to my understanding, thats the drug typically used to delay a period)

understandably, i really do not want to be on my period during my trip! i've heard taking plan B later in your cycle (around the last week) can delay menstrual bleeding for up to a week.

is this credible? is there anything else i could do to delay my period short notice? i'm willing to try anything! thank you in advance, o great r/birthcontrol
