Started weight bearing after NWB fibula fracture — pain in one particular spot in ankle
Hey y'all, I got the clear to go to full weight bearing a few days ago after 6 weeks NWB (I didn't have surgery, it was a fibula fracture). I've been practicing walking around but putting full weight on the leg is very difficult mainly because when I do I feel a very sharp, piercing pain on the left side of my right ankle and it feels pretty unstable.
This pain isn't at the fracture site. The only other time I feel this particular pain is when I'm outside of the boot doing ROM exercises and flex my foot in the "inversion position"
I called my doctor and he said just to do partial weight bearing and if it persists to go back in on Monday. I'm wondering if anyone has every experienced something similar and if the pain ever subsisted/got relieved?
