My cousin sent me his old components, need assistance

My older cousin from overseas recently upgraded his PC and seeing as how mine is a bit old, he gave me a few of his older parts, specifically a

GTX 3060 Ti

i7-11700k

32 GB ram

The problem is my current pc is gtx1060+ i7-3770, I did some research and discovered that I cant simply plug the newer parts into my current build and have to start over with a new build. Does anyone have any tips for buying or finding parts? I have never built a computer before and I love my cousin but all he said was good luck and to do some research.
