Looking for Eye Test recommendations. Wanting to get contact lenses for vision correction.

I've just "put up" with slightly blurry distance (and now becoming closer) vision since I was a teenager and have decided I've had enough. I'm firmly against the idea of wearing glasses - they're not for me. Looking for recommendations on who I should see to get the best outcome possible. TIA
