Stop playing small

I have been a CNA for about 16 years and I have worked with some phenomenal aides. Majority of them are fantastic caretakers that just really love their patients and enjoy their jobs. The thing that makes being an aide is how much other people on staff treat us like crap. Lazy nurses who won't even pour water for a patient even though the pitcher and cup is right there! I have had nurses tell me I can't talk at the nurses station and I'm a damn grown woman! As CNA we are the punching bags for everyone, so please understand how valuable you are and don't be afraid to leave these places that disrespect you.

I am a very hard worker and I know all of you are too. I don't play about disrespect. I give patients a pass on disrespect because I signed up to take care of them but I don't play with staff. I had a nurse tell me "Don't talk at the nurses station anymore" because she was upset I needed her help with a patient. I finished that shift and resigned immediately... Lol atleast I won't be talking at the nurses station. They called and pleaded with me.

I had a nurse write me up for accidently working on my day off, WHO WILLINGLY WORKS ON THEIR DAY OFF?? She suspended me for 5 days and I went to the employment board with a copy of that write up and they had to pay me 3 times the money I asked for.

I had the receptionist for lobby come and tell me to "make up THE BED NOW" while I'm in the middle of cleaning up a disaster in a patient's room.... I don't got time for that at all.

Leave these places as soon as they treat you disposable. If you're burnt out try finding work in different areas. I got a job at a bank and I do CNA part time to keep me sane.
