What's your unpopular opinion?

Everyone has one. Me? I don't like New 52 Animal Man. Don't get me wrong, the artwork is amazing and it's some of the best body horror in DC period, but I have four main issues:

  1. The plot is just esentially the Green Lantern mythos all over again: You have your super council of aloofness that's much less powerful than they claim to be and who secretly are much more evil (The Guardians and the Parliament of Limbs), the everyman dragged into the conflict who is much more moral (Hal Jordan and Buddy Baker), the younger stronger hero (Kyle Rayner and Maxine Baker), the member of the council who is much more humane (Ganthet and Socks), the member of the group who is also a member of another force (Red Lantern Gardner/White Lantern Rayner and Black Orchid) and the gruff mentor (Sheperd and Killowog)
  2. The plot about the Rot's attack on the Red just drags on and on and on and on and eventually you get super bored of it because it's tedious as hell
  3. Too dark and bleak, the original Animal Man run also was dark but Buddy's family just keeps eating shit through the entire comic with barely any pause.
  4. They don't explore enough Animal Man's... well, animal powers. The Morrison run was great because Buddy began using more powers than "strength of an ant, flight of a bird" in very creative ways (ie: smell of a moth, regenerative powers of a worm, balance of a cat, mytosis of an anemone). Here it's, again, pretty vanilla flying brick powers.
