Just got Nibbles, have questions

I've just got Nibbles - s/he is sitting in the laundry basket next to V's bed. I read somewhere that some cat stuff will show up in the apartment too - food/water bowls, a litter box, etc. It hasn't shown up, does it take a while?

And do the food/water bowls automatically keep filling up? I'm not seeing anything that says we can keep feeding the cat once it's in our apartment, I hope Nibbles' bowl at least gets filled automatically and it doesn't just starve with V :'(
