Overgrown Paint isn't paint???

I have a medic's assault rifle with Overgrown paint on it. It looks silly but it's the only paint I have for the assault. But at the legendary exchange machine, the rifle shows up and is scrappable, even though it's painted. Is this an assault rifle bug, Overgrown paint bug, or just the combo of AR and OG?
