Have you ever had a negative reaction to a perfume in public?

Family, friends, strangers. If so, what scent was it? My mother is extremely sensitive to scent and very picky in her tastes; she hates anything even mildly non-photorealistic floral (e.g. Philosophy Amazing Grace).
