What's the deal with BB now?

Why is it going through moments of just constant misses, even with aimlock off? Point blank range, center mass, targets not even moving, and I'll start going through phases of not even a single pellet hitting for multiple reloads. It feels like they added RNG to the hitscan, roll too low of a number and you just miss no matter what. Regardless of aimlock on or off it's the same thing.
