Scared for our country

As a government worker, all the emails and chaos in last couple of weeks have been horrible. i am seeing first hand how it is being done. It breaks all norms and is likely illegal.

Our sytem of governanence is being subverted in small, subtle and fundamental ways to not draw too much attention and not create too much outrage. It is being done in a very intelligent way, which is the scary part. It is being dressed up as RTO and removing lazy and unproductive federal workers to make government better.

It all sounds really good. But, what is to stop our leaders from going further?

Federal workers have good protections. If federal workers rights can be trampled, what is stopping the rights of the rest of the country from being trampled. You hope it stops with federal workers, but what are the guarentees?

For the first time, i am really scared for my country.
