11 months old and it's not getting better
I've posted a few times on this sub and nothing seems to be working. Our almost 11 month Border Collie RELENTLESSLY paces ( he's spent the last 10 minutes doing loops round the kitchen) and it's driving us insane. If we're in the room with him he's pacing or whining if he's leashed, there's practically no down time.
We've just paid for four sessions with a border collie specialists, as our previous trainer was not able to resolve the issues.
He is simple unable to settle around us, we've tried so many things and we've heard so many theories:
- Exercise more
- More mental stimulation
- More off lead time
- It's attention seeking
- He's an adrenaline junky and we need to prevent him getting as excited
- Reduce his protein intake
- It's his chase instinct (current trainers theory)
Is this ever going to get better? We've spent so much time and money on this but we're at the stage where if the remaining sessions with our specialist don't work we'll be looking to re-home him. We're just constantly low-level stressed when around him and it's just not fun.
