"What is art?" is an insane question, horrible really

Not because it is hard to answer, but because it isn't worth doing. Ever since Duchamp, art has been in a sort of semantic crisis. Within the avant garde and a lot of the contemporary art that came after always lies that question: "What is art?" And the answer is always a matter of semantics: what is art and what isn't? How do you separate the artistic from the not-artistic? Since a lot of modern art doesn't represent anything at all (it's not figurative) a big part of the meaning of it is saying "this also is art" (besides whatever meaning can be extrapolated from an art piece for whatever reasons).

However dumb or naïve this may sound, I feel we should just call it a bullshit question and move back to what truly is beautiful and genuine.
