Anyone else find Super Metroid scary as a kid?

When I was a kid (around 7 years old) and I played Super Metroid for the first time, I thought it was quite a scary game. The game is dark and music is creepy, lol. So I couldn't help but feel like I was venturing through a haunted house while playing the game and fighting against the bosses. But nonetheless, I loved the game and it was probably the game I played the longest on my SNES due to all the puzzle solving involved. And because of the time I spent playing it, I ended up beating it without any tips or strategy guides. Oh, how I would love to go back in time and play it all over again for the first time. It was quite a unique feeling, lol.
