Should I (14m) ask out my best friend (13m)?

I'm thinking about telling him. I've made a hand-stitched little heart, and embroidered an S on it (his name is... Let's just say Sam for privacy purposes) I also made a very detailed digital art piece saying "Will you be my valentine, Sam?" And I made this poem:

It started a few weeks ago You began being really sweet Letting me hug you more often The hugs from behind or the front Also more frequent compliments Noticed more of your behaviours Like touching my thigh or my chest Sat, hoping you'll reciprocate I ponder on all our moments The sonorous pings of my thoughts I can picture what we'd be like And I think it'd be so cute If you want to hear, I'd be glad So here goes, if you stick around:

I'd greet you with hugs and kisses Watching the sun rise together And our fingers would intertwine I'd give you lots of gifts and things, Many of them being handmade Don't forget the late night convos And walks in a picturesque place More songs and poems made for you Of course I'd try to protect you I love and care for you deeply So, wouldn't you consider it? I promise I will try my best And I'll be a kindred boyfriend We're close- can we become closer? .

And I also bought him a rose, except the end is a chocolate (he lovessss chocolate) I also hand stitched another heart, but it'd smaller than the original and has wings on. I'm planning on putting the digital art on the front of a homemade card, and then putting the poem and a message on the inside.

Sorry for unloading this on the internet, I don't really have anyone to gush about him. I really do love him so so much, and recently, I've been thinking he loves me more than platonically. As I said in the poem, he's been touching my body more often (dw it's not invasive). Today we were in the music room at lunchtime, and he kept going to hit keys on the piano infront of me (I was practicing for an in-class performance, and he isn't in my class so was just observing), and I grabbed his hand, but his face just softened when I grabbed his hand.

I love him so so much. Pls help and give advice

Also extra info: I'm gay and he's asexual (but I don't think hes aromantic) I'm about 5'9 and he's like 4'10 or something along them lines I'm fourteen and he's thirteen. I'm planning on asking him out on valentine's day if I'm not too scaredy cat to do it
