Shenzhen - HK daily commute

Is it feasible to commute daily from Shenzhen to HK to visit HK but stay in Shenzhen for a few days (since accommodation in HK is so much more expensive)? Has anyone done this before? I know it takes a lot of time for the immigration process (i guess) but would take that if it saves me the money for a hotel in HK
