Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma?

I am interested in a new mid size truck and have narrowed it down to either the Ranger oe the Tacoma. Please help me out on choosing which one.

Budget is about $45K.

I am planning on taking it camping, mountain bike riding and traveling cross country (with a bunch of my belongings) between Oregon and Texas.
