If you take Vyvanse before you wake up how long is it lasting?

My advice is that it is more prudent to take it when you wake up, and then use the time before it kicks in to eat, before it destroys your hunger and ruins your day because of low blood sugar.

So usually I drink a protein shake with protein powder, almond butter, water and ice about 20 min before I take it and find that’s when it works the best vs days I’m eating carbs or something else or even having coffee before I take it, but I’ve never tried having it on an empty stomach. Do you find eating just after you take it makes it less effective than eating before you take it?

I take 40mg at about 5:30-6:30am when I wake up. I find it kicks in around the 45 min mark and it wears off around 3:30ish in the afternoon. My doctor prescribed me 10mg at noon as a boost and that seems to have helped me a lot with the evenings so far. Only been taking the extra 10mg for 4 days.

Ok so you’re in a similar boat as me! I have an almost 2 year old and almost 5 year old so it’s busy and chaotic in the mornings and I’m alone with them every morning and then evenings I need to get through the after school rush of dinner and bath and then cleaning. I’m in 30mg and my dr said we could try a 10mg booster. So I may try your same routine. I usually drink my protein shake before I take it and I find it works really well, does eating after you take it slow it down at all?
